Breaks & holidays

Last year we decided to go away to Sorrento.  The preparation was time consuming with insurance and checking the hotel had suitable facilities but it was worth it!   Peter was allowed to be himself with no one having any history and just accepting him, as he accepted his limitations.

Young onset dementia need not stop you enjoying short breaks, or even trips to the other side of the world.

It may take a little more research and planning, but you can continue to travel for as long as you feel able to do so.  If you do not feel able to organise your own holiday, there are organisations that can help you.

The websites below give some examples of the types of dementia-friendly accommodation and holidays that are available.  You and your travel companions should decide what will work best for you all.
