Community Development Committee Members

As a committee member you will represent YoungDementia UK within your community, helping to develop new relationships and fundraising and awareness opportunities and helping to organise events and activities in aid of YoungDementia UK.  

Responsibilities include  

  • Represent YoungDementia UK within the community and work with local community groups, schools and businesses. 

  • Research local opportunities and contacts. 

  • Be a creative, enthusiastic member of the committee, raising awareness and funds, and help with YoungDementia UK presence at local events. 

  • Event organisation and participation.  

  • Occasional attendance at events and meetings outside normal committee meetings.  

What you could gain?

  • Event organisation experience.  

What are we looking for? 

  • Ability to contribute ideas and work effectively with other volunteers.   

  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.  

  • Basic IT skills.  

  • Good communication skills, you will work with a wide range of people within the community.  

  • Be collaborative and team focused, you will work closely with your committee members.   

  • Enthusiastic and motivated in raising awareness and fundraising.  

  • Develop new relationships and fundraising and awareness opportunities and help to organise events and activities in aid of YoungDementia UK.   

  • Minimum 8 hours a month.   

Training and support 

  • You will be inducted to the charity and a range of topics will be covered including community development, volunteering and training on the charity.   

  • Ongoing and additional support needed throughout your role.
