Community Development Committee Vice-Chair

As the Vice-Chair you will support the committee Chair in managing the activities and development of the volunteer Community and Fundraising Committee in your local area.  

Responsibilities include  

  • Keep up to date about the news and development of YoungDementia UK and actively share with committee.  

  • Support the Chair in the smooth running and organisation of the committee.  

  • Fulfil the duties of Chair in their absence. 

  • Represent YoungDementia UK within the community and work with local community groups, schools and businesses. 

  • Be a creative and enthusiastic team player, raising awareness and funds.  

  • Occasional attendance at events and meetings outside normal committee meetings.  

  • Develop new relationships and fundraising and awareness  opportunities and help to organise events and activities in aid of YoungDementia UK.

  • Understanding more about early onset dementia and the impact on people affected and their families.  

What we are looking for?  

  • Good communications skills. 

  • Ability to support the Chair and make impartial decisions. 

  • Positive attitude. 

  • To learn from the Chair and to step in, in the absence of the Chair. 

  • Minimum 10 hours a month. 

Training and support  

  • Induction to the charity in which a range of topics will be covered such as community development, volunteering, YoungDementia UK and mission/aims.  

  • Support from National Community and Events Fundraiser and the chair on a frequent basis.  

  • Ongoing additional support needed throughout your role.
