Dominique Kent, Director of Operations, The Good Care Group
Dominique Kent was appointed to the Board of The Good Care Group in 2010. Moving from the residential care sector, she was excited by the opportunity to create a high quality home care service that recognises the skills and experience of carers. With an ambition to recognise carers for the professionals they are, The Good Care Group now employs over 700 staff. With over 75% of its clients living with dementia (a small number with young onset), Dominique is proud to have led the development of its dementia care services. The team are proud to be rated ‘outstanding’ by CQC.
Dominique also sits on the Board of the UKHCA (UK Home Care Association), The Board of The Live-In Care Hub and has recently been appointed to the Board of L&Q Living to help develop care services.
Dominique joined the Young Dementia Network as making a difference and being a part of shaping change for people living with young onset is important to her. Having worked with some clients needing support, it became evident that raising awareness of both the issues and needs affecting people was much needed.
She is the chair of the Understanding and Awareness workstream.
