Job opportunities at YoungDementia UK – 2 posts, 21 hour contracts

YoungDementia UK, an award-winning charity, supports Oxfordshire’s working-age people with dementia and their families to live well.  We are currently looking for Support Workers.

Hours – minimum 21 hours/week plus variable hours to be negotiated
Job type – part-time / permanent / flexible hours
Location – Oxfordshire
Rate per hour - £10.50 / hour

YoungDementia UK support workers are special people.  They provide individually tailored support sessions to people aged under 65 who are living with dementia.   Helping them adapt to the challenges their condition brings, maintain their independence, experience new things and continue to take part in activities and interests they enjoy.

We are looking for people who are calm, flexible and reliable to join our team.  People who can empathise with the difficulties a diagnosis at a younger age brings and who can have a positive impact in a person’s life. Support workers also host groups for people with young onset dementia with different social and creative activities.

Induction, on-going training and supervision are provided.

YoungDementia UK team work from home bases, utilising an cloud-based office and you will need broadband and a laptop / pc and be reasonably confident and competent with e-communication – support is provided.  A full drivers licence and car is also required.
