Launch of new young onset dementia guide for GPs

A diagnosis of young onset dementia takes an average of 4.4 years, twice as long as a person aged over the age of 65.  In response to this disturbing statistic and a request from the Royal College of GPs, the Young Dementia Network has been working in collaboration with its members, clinicians and GPs to create a guide designed to help GPs recognise symptoms of young onset dementia.

Following a four-month pilot and endorsement by the Royal College of GPs, we are delighted to announce that our young onset dementia decision-making guide for GPs is now publicly available.

We will be sending it out to GP surgeries across the UK but you can access it online here. Paper copies of the guide are also available, please contact to request copies.
