Why volunteer with YoungDementia UK?
Your time matters
With more and more people being diagnosed each day, our challenge is to make sure that no one with young onset dementia is isolated and alone. That’s why we need you to join our volunteer team and help make a difference to people affected by the condition.
There are so many ways to get involved from attending events such as our social groups, becoming researchers or helping with administration, to joining our Community Development Committee and being at the heart of helping us to develop the charity within your community. Whatever you decide to do, your time will help us to support people affected by young onset dementia to live life well.
As a volunteer you will
- Make a meaningful difference
- Make new friends and create new experiences
- Be at the heart of the charity within your community
- Join the team and receive ongoing training
- Gain new skills in research, community development and event management and events
Community Development Committee
We have recently launched our new and exciting volunteer Community Development Committee. As a committee member you will represent YoungDementia UK within your community, helping to develop new relationships, fundraising and awareness opportunities and organise events and activities in aid of YoungDementia UK. With three exciting roles to choose from there is something to suit everyone.
As the Chair you will be responsible for leading a team of committed volunteers to raise awareness and funds in your local area. You will head up the community activities and fundraising developments in your area and motivate committee members and ensure that they are kept up to date with YoungDementia UK news and developments.
As the Vice-Chair you will support the committee Chair in managing the activities and development of the volunteer Community Committee in your local area.

Research and Administration Volunteers
We are always on the lookout for volunteers who can give up some spare time to help us with research and to provide administration skills.
Social Groups and Events
Sparing some time to help at our social events is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity. You will support the team to make the social event more memorable for people affected by young onset dementia and their families.
We are also on the lookout for volunteers to spare some time and cheer on our runners at marathons or simply help at local community events such as fayres, fetes and cake sales.
If you are interested in any of these roles, please get in touch with the team or call 07840 744559.
