Worcestershire young onset dementia services

Jo Scarle, Young Dementia Network member and Young Onset Dementia Development Officer, is employed by Worcestershire Health and Care Trust in a role of co-ordinating local support.  The role is advisory, awareness raising and educational, taking a lead in chairing groups such as the Young Onset Dementia Steering Group and Young Onset Dementia Champions as well as involvement in the organisation of local groups such as Connection Point, Family Voice, Dementia Voice and The Special Interest Group

People living locally who have a diagnosis of young onset dementia, and their families, are always welcome to contact the Young Onset Dementia Development Officer for advice, however, the young onset dementa Development Officer does not hold a clinical caseload.

With the support of an administrator the Young Onset Dementia Development Officer organises the newsletter, keeps the database and maintains the website.

In addition to these services, which specifically support people living with dementia at a younger age, there are a wide range of services which people can access which support the needs of people of any age living with dementia.
